Provide course descriptions as necessary. Specialized Experience Requirement:
For GS-04 level :
Applicants must have at least 6 months of general experience in performing farm/ranch labor, such as feeding/tending livestock or general maintenance of farm/ranch facilities; worked in a greenhouse, nursery or landscaping e.g., planting, moving, watering, and tending plants; worked as an animal caretaker in a laboratory, zoo or pet store; volunteer work at a park, youth camp, hospital, community sports league, local fire department and I have at least 6 months of specialized experience. Examples of specialized experience could include:
performs the full range of standardized forestry support duties for fire, timber, silviculture, recreation, wilderness, or research activities; assists in cruising timber; notes compliance with rules and regulations on parking, campfire, sanitation, use of picnic sites, or hunting and fishing; maintained and cleaned up recreation/wilderness areas; performs standard fire prevention, dispatch, or lookout duties; or performs various standard duties related to silviculture activities. OR, successfully completed an associate's degree or 2 full years of study that included at least 12 semester hours in any combination of courses such as forestry, agriculture, crop or plant science, range management or conservation, wildlife management, watershed management, soil science, natural resources (except marine fisheries and oceanography), outdoor recreation management, civil or forest engineering, or wildland fire science. No more than 3 semester hours in mathematics is creditable. OR, a combination of experience and education listed above. For GS-05 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-04 grade level. Examples of specialized experience are:
assists senior technicians in applying silvicultural prescriptions and marking guides to designate harvest timber; marks timber using well defined marking rules, established marking guides, and specific instruction; on a prescribed fire crew and with the guidance of senior technicians, performs prescribed fire operations including preparation, ignition, monitoring, holding and mop up; assists in the implementation of recreation operation and maintenance for developed and dispersed recreation sites; collects and analyzes data on the characteristics and quality of samples from field tests. OR, successfully completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree (a) with major study in forestry, range management, agriculture, or a subject-matter field directly related to the position, or (b) that included at least 24 semester hours in any combination of courses such as those shown above for GS-4. No more than 6 semester hours in mathematics is creditable. OR, a combination of experience and education listed above. For GS-06 level:
Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level. Examples of specialized experience are:
independently applies silvicultural prescriptions and marking guides to designate harvest timber; performs preparatory work for timber sales; during initial attack fire suppression activities, locates fireline, directs and participates in fireline construction, backfiring and burnout operations, engine and pump operations, tree falling and holding/patrol/mop-up operations; assists with the enforcement of Off-Road-Vehicle restrictions; develops reports on the characteristics and quality of samples from field tests. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENT:
If you are a current federal employee in the General Schedule (GS) pay plan and applying for a promotion opportunity, you must meet time-in-grade (TIG) requirements of 52 weeks of service at the next lower grade level in the normal line of progression for the position being filled. This requirement must be met by the closing date of this announcement.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
